DUNK MAXWELL AND THE DFUNK

Dunk Maxwell & The DFUNK are a compact, yet powerful stage band playing all-original Soul and Funk music. The DFUNK recently filmed a PBS Sounds on 29th special that will air in March.

Based in the Denver, CO area, the band is fronted by Dunk Maxwell, a vocalist and bass player known for his energetic delivery and unusual double thumb style. The DFUNK consists of some of Denver’s finest funk musicians, assembled in the manner of Golden Era R&B/Soul stage bands.

Dunk Maxwell and The DFUNK debuted to a sold out house in August of ‘23, and followed up by opening for Billboard charting Jazz artist Gregory Goodloe at one of the final concerts held at the original site of the legendary El Chapultepec.

The group shares broad influences ranging from classic Motown and Memphis Soul to Psychedelic Rock and New Orleans Jazz. Their sound is driven by a tight rhythm section and punchy horns, and features many unforgettable guest performers.
